New chairman of Machinery Exporters Association (MAİB) was elected through Elective Ordinary General Assembly. Elected as the Chairman of Board of Directors of MAİB, Kutlu Karavelioğlu took over the duty from Adnan Dalgakıran who was acting as chairman for 12 years. Karavelioğlu was taking office as Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of MAİB.
Being the only exporters union representing more than 11 thousand machinery exporters in Turkey and operating under brand of Turkish Machinery, Elective Ordinary General Assembly of MAİB was held on April 14th in Ankara. Held with the participation of Undersecretary of Ministry of Economy, İbrahim Şenel and representatives from Ministry of Economy and Turkish Exporters Assembly, in the General Assembly vice chairman Kutlu Karavelioğlu was elected as chairman and the Board of Directors with half of its members being replaced was refreshed.
Chairman of Board of Directors of Machinery Exporters Association, Kutlu Karavelioğlu emphasized that the machinery sector has multiplied its export which was nearly 1.7 million dollars in 2001, by nine with the investments and effective promotional activities it has realized in the last 16 years. Reminding that the machinery sector has set its export goal for 2018 as 18 billion dollars, Chairman of Board of Directors of Machinery Exporters Association, Kutlu Karavelioğlu added: “Turkish machinery industry is demonstrating great solidarity with the importance it has placed on sectoral organization. All of the 22 subsectors have established unions and has gained lobbying power effective at home and abroad under the umbrella of our exporters union and federation. We have our flag being waved at almost all of the international parent organizations and our representatives take office in the management of a major number of them. Our common culture which is being gradually consolidated has turned the major responsibility we assume for the future of our country into an inevitable duty. In the organizations of our world, interests of the county and the sector are mentioned rather than the interests of companies and individuals. Line in all of our elections in the past, today we are taking over the flag with our colleagues who has worked for their own subsectors for years and assimilated with this culture. Our efforts will go on by gaining speed with the experience and contributions of our full and associate members who have participated to us recently and our export figure which is in excess of 15 billion today will break new records.”
