Five well-established representatives of the Turkish machinery industry — AİMSAD (Woodworking Machinery Industrialists Association), İMDER (Turkiye Construction Equipment Distributors and Manufacturers Association), İSDER (Material Handling, Storage & Industrial Equipment Association of Turkiye), POMSAD (Turkish Pump and Valve Manufacturers Association) and TARMAKBİR (Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery & Equipment Manufacturers) — have signed a corporate cooperation protocol to contribute to the development of their members and the broader sectoral ecosystem.
“Less Resources, Greater Efficiency”
The signed protocol aims to strengthen inter-association coordination in capacity-building activities such as training programs, seminars, workshops, and technical sessions, with the objective of ensuring more efficient use of limited financial, time, and human resources.
Within the scope of the agreement, it was decided that each association would share its ongoing activities and expertise with other stakeholders to help build a common sectoral ecosystem.
Cross-Sector Integration and a Shared Technological DNA
This collaboration brings together different disciplines of the machinery industry under the common denominator of “shared technology and markets”:
• Shared Technology – Off-Road Machinery
Construction machinery, material handling equipment, and agricultural machinery — represented by İMDER, İSDER, and TARMAKBİR — share a common technological DNA. From Stage V emission standards to hydraulic systems and autonomous driving software, these sectors rise on a common engineering foundation under the “Off-Road” category. The synergy among these three sectors forms the backbone of the platform.
• Logistics and Smart Warehousing
With the inclusion of material handling machinery (forklifts, warehouse equipment, etc.), not only production but also post-production logistics and distribution processes become part of the cooperation ecosystem. As agriculture increasingly relies on higher-capacity machinery, certain material handling equipment is also being utilized within agricultural applications.
• Infrastructure and Resource Management
POMSAD and TARMAKBİR intersect particularly in agricultural irrigation and water management technologies, creating a natural partnership area for solution-oriented collaboration.
• Integrated Value Chain
TARMAKBİR’s forestry machinery segment and AİMSAD’s expertise in processing forest-based raw materials into high value-added final products together establish a holistic integration from raw material to finished goods.
Similarly, the relationship between İMDER and AİMSAD represents an alliance between “the power extracting raw materials from the field” and “the technology adding engineering and artistry to raw materials.” The need for large crawler excavators, loaders, and specialized attachments for forest road construction, site clearing, and log transportation clearly illustrates the value-chain relationship among these sectors.
Key Focus Areas of the Cooperation
• Strength in Education
Through vocational and technical training programs as well as certification schemes, the cooperation aims to support the development of the qualified workforce required by the sector.
• Joint Legislative Studies
Particularly in the field of “Non-Road Mobile Machinery,” the shared regulatory ground of İMDER, İSDER, and TARMAKBİR encourages joint action. Cybersecurity is also expected to become a more prominent common agenda item in the coming period.
International examples further highlight this alignment: in the United States, both sectors operate under the umbrella of Association of Equipment Manufacturers, while in Europe, the CEMA (European Agricultural Machinery Association) and CECE (Committee For European Construction Equipment) frequently collaborate on lobbying and regulatory matters.
• University–Industry Cooperation
The experience of TARMAKBİR and POMSAD in university–industry collaboration projects will be shared with other stakeholders to facilitate the integration of academic knowledge into industrial practice.
• Exchange of Best Practices
The parties will share successful practices such as buyer delegation programs, UR-GE (International Competitiveness Development) projects, congresses, workshops, and technical visits, enabling cross-sector learning and synergy.
Through periodically established action plans, the associations aim to define concrete steps, coordinate joint communication processes, and achieve rapid and effective results through an event-based working model.
